First Day in Jeans

After two years of a strict "no jeans-ever-don’t-even-think-about-it" policy at my job in our buttoned-up Nation’s capital, I recently found myself sitting at work in a pair of my favorite Citizens. I sat there, upright in my Aeron, wondering if this is what those Amish teenagers feel like on Rumspringa. Jeans are a major staple of my wardrobe and having to neglect them for two years was painful. Of course, that hasn't been the only wardrobe transition I've experienced since moving from DC to San Francisco. A few things I've learned so far:

1- Apparently leggings are acceptable again, and they go with everything.

2- Tom's are suitable walking shoes.

3- Acceptable work outfits can include leather pants and a fur vest.

So, let's just say things have changed since my Banana Republic laden closet. But it's a good transition so far and certainly makes for great people watching on the train!
